Inspecting Common Wear Parts
It is important to thoroughly inspect you harvest head to check for any worn parts that need to be replaced. Some parts especially, take a heavy beating during harvest and may need to be replaced more often than others.• Disc is worn down to a diameter ≤ 110 mm
• Cutting edge coating is undamaged (> 110 mm)
• Coating on cutting edge is worn
• Knife cannot be adjusted to 1 mm
• Coating of the cutting edge is intact
• Knife can be adjusted properly
• Cutting edge coating is worn
• Knife cannot be adjusted to 1 mm
• Coating of the cutting edge is intact
• Knife can be adjusted properly
• Cutting edge is nicked or dull
• Knife can't be set to 1 mm in back / 2-3 mm in front
• Coating of the cutting edge is undamaged
• Knife can still be adjusted properly
• Cutting edge is dull, cracked, and chipped
• Coating on the cutting edge is undamaged
• Sleeve is visibly worn
• Replace sleeve with every other rotating knife replacement
• No visible signs of wear
• Sprocket tooth crest is worn to < 6 mm
• No signs of wear on sprocket (tooth crest ≈ 10 mm)
• Visible signs of wear on seal
• Replace seal at every other rotating knife replacement
• Seal shows no visible signs of wear
