Geringhoff worked closely with farmers across North America to develop the most affordable, efficient, and dependable system to harvest their crops. Our engineers utilized farmer feedback and the finest components from around the world to design the North Star* processing system.
The North Star* offers an exceptionally smooth and quiet running system, despite its fierce appetite in the field. And its knife-roll processing moved harvest innovation beyond the basic corn head operation competitors were using. Aside from removing the ears from the stalk, the North Star* processes the stalk, allowing for greater breakdown and post-harvest tillage. The North Star* handles stalks as tough as they come and helps increase harvest production without typical delays caused by changing stalk characteristics and unpredictable harvest conditions, all while allowing for harvest at higher ground speeds.

Xtreme DeComposition (XDC) Rolls
Xtreme DeComposition (XDC) Rolls are our new residue management rolls. They are an upgrade to our ‘work horse’ North Star* rolls, which have been a staple in the Geringhoff line for years.

The North Star* System in Action
Two counter-rotating snapping rolls, each fitted with four knife bars, aggressively pull the corn stalks downward in a controlled motion.
This enables the deck plates to strip the corn cob off the plant. The unchopped corn straw remains in the field, protecting the soil from erosion.

A unique gathering chain idea
Gathering Chains
Always ready and perfectly tensioned
The gathering chains are tensioned automatically. The gathering chain can be changed quickly and easily thanks to the Geringhoff special tool. As the chain tensioner is tuned to the patented sprocket, the driveline is protected from blockages caused by debris and gearbox failures are avoided. Geringhoff is the only manufacturer to offer automatic tensioning for the gathering chains.

Standard Feature
Down Corn Auger
The down corn auger makes harvesting down crops even easier. The hydraulically driven conveyor auger located on the outside bodies (left-hand, right-hand, or double-sided design) of your Geringhoff corn head prevents cobs from being slung toward the edge of the crop. It also keeps crop residues from accumulating on the outer bodies.

Sunflower Kit
As an alternative, Geringhoff corn heads may be fitted with an active or passive sunflower harvest system. Field characteristics and crop maturity levels will determine which system is recommendable.

Headsight
Precise header height control over all types of terrain. At the heart of the Headsight header height control system are flexible poly paddles and reliable electronics. Other systems will dig in to the soil and damage the system when in reverse, but not Headsight. It's design is operator friendly and has been used reliably for decades.
