Geringhoff is seeking an Assistant Material Planner to assure the availability of needed materials (internal or external) to support all of Geringhoff’s production with a minimum inventory level. The Assistant Material Planner job description below describes major duties and authorities within the position but it is not limited to these items.

Primary Responsibilities
- Review and act on the daily suggestion report generated from SAP (Planning System), meet with Purchasing, and take appropriate actions to assure needed material availability with minimal inventory
- Place needed work orders for goods and services for both new and existing parts (when warranted). This could include:
- Working though all assigned actions specified by SAP (Planning System) and (ERP) system
- Expediting internal existing orders and working with Purchasing for external purchase orders
- Confirming all receiving has been completed daily
- Tracking customer on-time deliveries
- Assist in planning and expediting the coordination of orders and work in process in the Receiving, Quality, Welding, Paint, Assembly and Shipping areas
- Maintain planning parameters (lead time, safety stock, open order status, order size, etc.)
- Determine inventory disposition and plan implementation to minimize obsolescence
- Work assigned ECN’s in a timely manner according to procedure
- Assist in receiving inventory delivery as needed
- Generate and maintain basic spreadsheets and create charts in Excel and PowerPoint
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- Associate Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience, preferably with ERP systems
- APICS certification strongly desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understand the basic fundamental mechanics of ERP and required data integrity
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to produce written communication at a professional business level
- Working knowledge of the internet and its capabilities
- Well organized with a strong aptitude for detail
- Effective interpersonal communication skills - including:
- Ability to deal well with variety of people and personalities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – both orally and in writing – to individuals and groups of people both inside and outside the company
- Strong capacity for critical thinking, decision-making, problem analysis, and problem solving that is essential in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively, as a team member, to resolve differences
- Must be able to use general office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copier, e-mail, calculator, and other such equipment
